ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

This workshop provides information about sleep cycles, bedtime routines and behavioural strategies to address common sleep issues, as well as giving opportunity to share your experiences with other parents/ carers, view resources and find out about services that can support you and your child.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Parents / carers of children and young people 0-18 years with any Special Educational Needs and / or Disability, who have difficulty getting to sleep, settling themselves to sleep independently, wake frequently in the night and / or wake up early.

Please note the workshop is only available to people who pay council tax to Wakefield Council (or the child that they care for must live in the Wakefield Council district).

FAQs

Can I bring my child or their sibling?

Unfortunately only people over the age of 18 years can attend the workshop as we have no childcare facilities or insurance cover for children under 18.

Can I have more than 1 place?

Yes - other family members such as Partners, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, siblings over the age of 18 years and family friends that care for the child are able to attend the workshop. A separate booking is required for each person attending.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Castleford Civic Centre is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from Castleford Bus & Train stations. Buses that pass the Civic Centre leave the bus station approximately every 10 minutes. Free car parking is available over the road and on Maltkiln Lane as well as on local streets.

Do I need to bring anything to the event?

No - you do not need your booking confirmation as your name will be listed on the signing in sheet. Pens and paper are provided, along with refreshments (tea, coffee, water, juice and biscuits).

Can I update my registration information or cancel my place?

Yes - changes can be made on Eventbrite. Please note changes made less than 24 hours before the workshop may not be actioned, therefore please contact Barnardo's WESAIL on 01924 304152 if you need to change anything the day before the workshop.
