Mental Health Training - Anxiety - for professionals

This training is targeted at professionals in Trafford working with children and young people and is designed to coincide with the launch of the Mood and Emotional Disorders/Difficulties Care Pathway. It will primarily be for School Nurses, Health Visitors, Early Help Hub staff, GPs, Schools, Locality Teams, & the Voluntary Sector. Please note that there are limited places so a maximum of two places per school/GP surgery will be permitted. Other interested professionals not listed above are welcome to email Mark.Coates@Trafford.gov.uk to request a place if they feel this is applicable to their role.

This workshop on Anxiety will cover:

  • What is anxiety & what causes it?

  • Anxiety presentations in children & young people (separation anxiety, school phobia, exam stress, sleep, panic, mindfulness etc)

  • 3 aspects of anxiety

  • How anxiety may manifest in CYP/signs to look out for

  • What to do to address stress and anxiety

  • Practical interventions to support CYP with anxiety
